Come! Let's Build Together!

The hub for BrillaLife ministry in Mexico is in the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato.  This central Mexican town was founded in the 16th century and much of her old-world charm is due to the cobblestone streets that rise and fall across the steep-sloped terrain. The streets are quaint, but require careful maintenance. The other day, I stopped to observe a crew repairing a damaged street. What I noticed was a very different approach to road repair than the asphalt-filled-pothole method common in Texas.   As I watched the men work, digging out stones, leveling the area, and selecting each stone for a specific place in the row of stones for the street…I was reminded of this  verse in Isaiah 58:12.

Some of you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the foundations laid long ago; you will be called the repairer of broken walls, the restorer of streets where people live. Isaiah 58:12 CSB

God led me to unearth a treasure hidden inside this scripture. The discovery of the words, restorer and repairer, serve as gentle reminders of the essential work God has called us to carry out in Mexico.

The Restorer = to turn back, to return

When you partner with us in ministry, you are helping Mexican families turn back to God.

Most Mexicans revere the Bible, but they are unfamiliar with the content of God’s word. They do not fully understand the redemptive story of God, and are unaware of the hope He promises to those who embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Through the classes and social services BrillaLife offers, families are introduced to the gospel.  Joanna attended one of our classes in which we use Bible stories to teach basic English. Her mom, Paula, started to read the class textbook, the Illustrated Bible. Once introduced to the life-changing message of the gospel, both daughter and mother made decisions to place their faith in Christ! Families are turning back to God, and the Holy Spirit is transforming lives.

The Repairer = to build

When you partner with us in ministry, you are helping new believers  build their lives on Bible truths. You are sowing into a Christ culture that will impact the future of Mexico. We believe Bible literacy is vital to growing disciples. That is why we are committed to laying a firm foundation built on Biblical truth; where new believers are guided and sustained daily by the word of God. Just this month, two new Saturday Brilla Bible clubs were formed. Children and parents gather for science and art classes that focus on learning Bible truths and scripture memorization.  Jesus Christ is the central theme of every lesson and the gospel message is advancing. When you partner with us, you are taking the message of salvation to the least evangelized state in the country of Mexico. You walk alongside us, taking the Good News to those who are lost so that they can be made right with God.

You are a Restorer and Repairer, because you desire that people call on the name of the Lord and be saved.

You are a Restorer and Repairer, because you acknowledge the truth found in Romans 10:14-15 and have responded. “How can they call on Him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher?  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!"

A Solid Rock Foundation

We dare not neglect this great work. Join our family and the BrillaLife ministry team to change the eternal destiny of Mexican families and build a firm foundation for this generation and the ones to follow.

The word of God is a solid rock foundation. Jesus taught a parable about two men who built houses, one on a rock foundation and one on sand.

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 CSB
